I love this time of year- especially now that I get to decorate my own house and spoil my husband with presents and Christmas goodies...(I also love this time of year because I love the clothes...boots over jeans are the best, cute sweaters, warm scarves and adorable hats!!) I mean seriously it doesn't get much better than that!!
But this post is not so I can talk about all the cute wardrobe choices. It's so I can talk about fun Christmas goodies! I have never been one to like cooking- but I'm kinda learning to love it!! Especially when it's something cute and fun!
Look how cute these Christmas tree cookies are!!!
I got the cookie recipe from my cousin Staci...(Homemade oreo's) I got the frosting recipe from my Aunt Kristi....Thank you ladies :) They turned out delicious!!!!
Cookie recipe- 1 box of chocolate cake mix, 3/4 cup shortening, 2 eggs. Pre- heat oven to 335 and cook for 6 min.
Frosting- half a cube of butter, 4 cups powdered sugar, 2 tsp vanilla. Mix, mix, mix then add milk until it's the consistency you want.... ENJOY!!!
and here is a picture of my handy dandy cookie tool...I can do all sorts of things with this thing!! I love it...but for this time of the year I had to go with the Christmas tree ofcoarse!!! :) And YES I did crop out my face in this picture (be grateful, ok!)
Ta-da!! So when your all done baking the cookies- let them cool. Then you frost the backside of one cookie, and place another cookie on top and whaaaa laaaa you have a homemade oreo! :)Hope everyone has a cheerful Christmas season!!!
